Freehold Elks Charities
The Freehold Elks Motorcycle Committee (MC) is a proud and active branch of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #1454, based in Freehold, New Jersey. Our mission is to serve and uplift the community through charity, compassion, and camaraderie, using our love of motorcycles as a vehicle for change.
We are deeply committed to supporting special needs children, homeless and at-risk veterans, and struggling members of our local community. Our committee organizes and participates in a variety of fundraising events throughout the year, the most notable of which is our annual Harley-Davidson motorcycle raffle. This exciting event gives participants the chance to win a brand-new Harley while directly supporting worthy causes.
Who We Support
Special Needs Children
We work closely with Elks charities to ensure that children with physical and developmental disabilities have access to opportunities that enhance their quality of life. A significant portion of our fundraising is dedicated to sending kids to Elks Camp Moore, a fully accessible summer camp that offers children with special needs a week of fun, confidence-building, and social interaction in a safe, nurturing environment.
Homeless Veterans & Military Families
Our veterans’ programs focus on helping homeless and transitioning veterans reintegrate into society by supporting housing, job training, mental health resources, and emergency aid. We proudly support the Army of Hope, an Elks initiative that provides financial and emotional support to families of active-duty service members and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Local Families in Need
We actively assist Freehold-area families facing financial hardship due to illness, unemployment, or emergencies. Whether it's helping cover medical expenses, utility bills, or providing food and holiday gifts, we step in to lend a hand when our neighbors need us most.
Children’s Hospitals & National Charities
We contribute to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children, two nationally renowned organizations that offer critical medical care to children battling life-threatening conditions. Our donations help ensure that no child is denied treatment due to cost and that research continues to advance cures for pediatric diseases.
How We Raise Funds
Our major annual fundraiser is the Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Raffle, where community members purchase tickets for the chance to win a brand-new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. In addition, we host:
- Charity motorcycle runs
- Benefit dinners and BBQs
- Auctions and raffles
- Community outreach days
- Toy, food, and clothing drives
All funds raised are used 100% for charitable purposes, with no administrative overhead taken by our committee members. We are proud to be volunteer-led, driven by the values of brotherhood, service, and patriotism.
